Shamsul, one of club co-founders about his road to kettlebell sport: “I have started doing kettlebell at first as part of exercise routine. I started training with kettlebell after my medicine study in Ukraine, around 2010. My friend, Mohd Fattah Jaafar, introduced me to kettlebell exercises. For kettlebell sport in general, my former comrade, Mohamad Azlan Zain, introduced it to me a bit later. Our club was formed in 2013, but it is growing every day, and more people become interested in kettlebells. Right now we have 8 members who train at least 3 times a week and become stronger and better everyday, and a staff of three coaches, which are: Daniel Han Yuan Lee, Shamsul Aliash(me) and Mohamed Azlan Zain.”
Pahlawan Girya Malaysia was established in 2013 with a mission to promote and learn the education of Girya Sport. The main goals of pahlavan KB club are to improve kettlebell awareness in their area, teach people how to use it and ultimately, help people to train and introduce them to some of useful and effective techniques. Club’s best achievements are when 5 of their athletes achieved good ranking in Singapore competition in 2016. Their best sportsman for now is one of the club co-founders Daniel Lee Han Yuan. Beside being trained by their coaches, they also get help from Sergey Merkulin from Russia and Khrisnamurti Dwipayana from Indonesia.
